A 55-year-old woman has committed suicide, just days after her infant granddaughter drowned in a pool.
According to a police report, Deera Seepersad died at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital yesterday.
Hours earlier, she ingested a poisonous substance and is said to have made reference to her granddaughter’s death.
The 10 month old Alya Ramjit died after falling into the pool at a Diego Martin home on December 31st 2025.
