Government has once again raised the age limit for importing foreign used vehicles into Trinidad and Tobago.
At yesterday’s post Cabinet media briefing, Trade Minister Satyakama Maharaj confirmed that Cabinet has approved increasing the allowable age from six years to eight, just weeks after the Budget moved the limit from three to six.
The new rule applies to right-hand drive private cars, SUVs, sedans, and station wagons powered by gasoline, diesel, or CNG.
Mr Maharaj said the shift aims to expand consumer options, but it also marks the second major change in a short span, drawing attention to how vehicle import policy is rapidly evolving.
