The Social Development Ministry has pledged over $41 million in annual subventions to organizations serving persons with disabilities.
During a ceremony at the Ministry’s Port of Spain headquarters, Minister Vandana Mohit presented allocations to the Lady Hochoy Centres, the Trinidad and Tobago Association for the Hearing Impaired, and the Blind Welfare Association.
Minister Mohit described the initiative as a declaration of empowerment — not charity — emphasizing that inclusion is the foundation for building a compassionate and equitable Trinidad and Tobago.
