A Fyzabad man, who killed the mother of his young son, has been sentenced to 12 years and 23 days in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
According to the T&T Express, the High Court judge noted that the killing was carefully planned and executed, with the accused disguising himself with a hijab and carrying an illegal firearm into the victim’s home.
The court also emphasized that domestic disputes or jealousy cannot justify violence.
The sentence reflects a starting point of 28 years, reduced for mitigation, an early guilty plea, and time already served.
