Flooding in parts of South, following yesterday’s heavy rains, has left some damages in the area.
Chairman of the Penal Debe Regional Corporation Gowtam Maharaj spoke with 103.1FM News this morning.
Mr Maharaj added that flood mitigation works will continue in collaboration with other Ministries.

In the Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo area, floods have subsided, with no reports of damages received so far.
However this morning, the disaster management team is in Caparo to begin cleanup efforts.
Chairman of the Regional Corporation, Ryan Rampersad, shared an update with 103.1FM News.
Mr Rampersad spoke further mitigation measures continue in the Caparo area.
Meanwhile, last evening’s River Level Advisory issued by the Local Government Ministry showed the El Carmen River at 90% capacity and the Caroni Tumpuna River at 87%.
Councillor for St Augustine South/ Piarco/ St Helena, Richard Rampersad told 103.1FM News that last night’s low tide at 10:52PM would have allowed for run-off from the watercourse.
He confirmed that the electoral district was not affected by any floods yesterday.
Mr Rampersad added that teams in the area, including the Works Ministry Drainage Division, have been engaged in cleaning, clearing and desilting secondary watercourses, which has served as a flood mitigation measure.
