Farley Augustine Sworn in 15 01 26

Farley Augustine has been sworn in for his second term as Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly.

Mr Augustine took his first Oath of Office as Chief Secretary on December 8th 2021.

He returns to office after his Tobago Peoples Party recorded an historic 15-0 victory in the THA elections on Monday.

The TPP Leader is the first Chief Secretary to return to office since Orville London won his fourth term of office in 2013.

Up to news time, Niall George was appointed Presiding Officer, while Dr Faith Brebnor was nominated as Deputy Chief Secretary.

Petal Ann Roberts, Akel Franklin, and Adanna Ayesha Joseph-Wallace have been appointed as councillors.

The 13th Inauguration Ceremony is being presided over by President Christine Kangaloo.

In attendance are Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles-Robinson, Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh, Senate President Wade Mark and members of Government.
