The Education Ministry has confirmed that all students and staff of St. Francois Girls’ College are safe, following a shooting incident near the school earlier today.
In a release today, the Ministry said the school implemented a temporary lockdown, in coordination with the TTPS, and students were safely dismissed to parents, guardians, and authorised school transport.
It added that counselling and psychosocial support have been mobilised through the Student Support Services Division, the Community Police Unit, and the Victim Support Unit.
Officials commended the school administration, staff, and law enforcement for their quick action, and assured the public that student safety remains the top priority.
