The Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal of administrative assistant Tricia Brown, upholding an earlier ruling that the National Commission for Self Help was justified in terminating her employment.
Brown, who sued for wrongful and unfair dismissal in 2019, was fired after a database she created and managed—containing employees’ vacation leave records—went missing.
A panel led by Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh ruled that Brown was not entitled to damages, affirming Justice Frank Seepersad’s 2022 decision that the termination was justified.
