The convicted killer of chartered accountant Paul Roopsingh is set to appeal his death sentence.

The Judiciary has announced that the Court of Appeal will hear the case of Kendell Gomez versus The State on Tuesday, November 25th, at the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain.

Gomez was sentenced to death last week after being found guilty of murdering Roopsingh at his St. Joseph home in 2006.

Evidence at trial showed Gomez’s fingerprint on the fan used to strangle the victim.

Justice Gail Gonzales ruled the proof was overwhelming, leaving no innocent explanation.
