Eight inmates will face charges following a major joint operation at two of T&T’s prisons, early this morning.
The exercise, between the Prison Emergency Response Unit and the Trinidad TTPS, resulted in the seizure of a large cache of contraband, at the External Remand Facility and the Refurbished Golden Grove Prison in Arouca.
Among the items confiscated were 14 cell phones, 12 SIM cards, marijuana, improvised weapons several weapons, and even a specially modified bottle.
The operation, supervised by Senior Superintendent Lee Davis and coordinated by top officials, is set to lead to charges against eight prisoners in the coming weeks.
