Over two dozen persons have completed training and will begin work as Social Services Delivery Officers.
The persons were selected following a comprehensive written assessment and last week completed a five-day orientation and training prgramme.
At a certificate distribution ceremony on Friday, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, congratulated the officers and emphasized the task at hand.
“You are not just entering a job. You are stepping into a role that places you on the frontline of dignity, hope and human resilience,” she said.
According to Minister Mohit, the social services system is being re-engineered to improve responsiveness, efficiency and transparency.
The newly trained officers will be on the “frontline of engagement with vulnerable citizens” and are expected to assist the transformation by improving service delivery and reducing delays.
