Deputy Commissioner of Police Susan Martin is sending a clear message this Carnival season: the festivities are for fun, not crime.

Speaking at a Thursday press conference, Deputy Commissioner Martin emphasized that Carnival is not an opportunity for criminal activity.

“There will be zero tolerance for illegal firearms or abuse of legal firearms, violence, disorderly conduct, or unapproved events. Our posture is firm, measured and decisive,” she said.

Deputy Commissioner Martin added that the TTPS is fully prepared to execute its Operation Secure de Vibes.

“The National Command Post is operational, our Divisional Operations tactical rooms are functioning, Joint Task Force coordination is integrated, high visibility patrols are deployed, parade routes have been inspected and secured, traffic management plans are finalized, and intelligence monitoring continue in real time, ” she said.
