Vendors at the Breakfast Shed food court on the Port of Spain waterfront are considering legal action amid ongoing rent disputes.

UDeCOTT said the vendors reportedly owe $1.8 million in rent accumulated over several years.

A T&T Express report said Attorney Kenneth Munroe Brown, representing the co-owners and former tenants, said UDeCOTT’s CEO has misled the board regarding the vendors’ departure.

Mr Brown submitted a pre-action protocol letter, calling for meaningful discussions within 14 days and warns of potential legal action against UDeCOTT and its CEO if no agreement is reached.

The letter also references unresolved financial commitments dating back to 2005.

Since the start of the week, vendors have started closing their businesses.
