A decomposing body was found in an abandoned building on Wrightson Road in Port of Spain on Monday.
Police alerted to a foul smell coming from the Old Ministry of Agriculture, Surveys and Mapping Division building.
The officers found the body of a shirtless man of African descent, who wore dreadlocks and was dressed in long brown pants.
The body, which bore no signs of violence, is at the Forensic Science Center pending investigation and autopsy.
