4.2 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded East of Trinidad and Tobago

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre has recorded a moderate earthquake in the region.

The tremor, measuring 4.2 in magnitude, occurred at 10:52 on Monday night local time.

It was located at a depth of 96 kilometres, approximately 244 kilometres east-south-east of Scarborough, 291 kilometres east of Arima, and 312 kilometres east of San Fernando.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The Seismic Research Centre continues to monitor activity and is reminding the public to stay informed through official updates.
