17-year-old Gabriel Nelson has not yet been found, after he reportedly got into difficulty and disappeared while bathing at Mayaro yesterday.
Captain Vallance Rambharat of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team confirmed the ongoing search during an update to 103.1FM News this afternoon.
Captain Rambharat also warned of the dangers of of strong rip currents in the area that may have contributed to the incident.
Search efforts continue, involving the TTPS Air Support Unit, Mayaro Police, and Hunters Search and Rescue team, as authorities comb the waters and shoreline for the missing teenager.
