A 16-year-old Form Four student was detained at a secondary school in Valencia earlier today after police discovered cannabis and a concealed weapon in his possession.
The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m. Monday, when an officer on routine foot patrol noticed the student acting suspiciously.
During a search, 15 packets of cannabis, totaling 10 grams, and a four-inch pocketknife were recovered.
The student was taken to Sangre Grande Police Station and later to the Maracas/St. Joseph Booking Centre, pending placement at the Juvenile Suite.
Charges are expected to be filed tomorrow, with a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, 19th November.
