BBC News says an Israeli missile has hit Iran.

In a report it says the word came from two US officials to its US partner, CBS News.

It follows reports by Iranian state media that flights have been suspended over several cities.

Explosions have been reported near the city of Isfahan, which Associated Press says is home to a major airbase for the Iranian military, as well as sites associated with its nuclear program.

Iran has been on high alert after Israel said it would respond to an Iranian attack against it on Saturday night.

Iran’s strike was in retaliation for an attack on its consulate in Syria on April 1st, which it blames on Israel.
