The T&T Bureau of Standards has opened a sub-office in Tobago.

Prior to the opening of the Tobago location, Bureau staff would have had to travel from the head office in Trinidad periodically to carry out services.

TTBS Chairman Lawford Dupres says the new sub-office would allow for services such as the testing of measuring devices used in trade and commercial transactions on the island.

Furthermore, he notes that additional benefits are expected to follow through job opportunities as the Bureau seeks to staff the facility.

The new sub-office is located at D Colosseum Building II in Crown Point.
