OWTU President General Ancel Roget has called for the Commission of Enquiry’s report into the Paria tragedy to be made public.

The report, examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths of four divers in a Paria pipeline, was due to be handed over to President Christine Kangaloo yesterday.

At an event last evening in remembrance of the closure of the Petrotrin refinery Mr Roget made a brief statement about the Commission’s report.

Rishi Nagassar, Kazim Ali Jr, Fyzal Kurban, and Yusuf Henry died after being sucked into a Paria pipeline during maintenance work on February 25th 2022.

Another diver, Christopher Boodram, was the lone survivor.

A similar call for the report to be made public was issued by Prakash Ramadhar, attorney for the Kurban and Henry families.
