Police believe the destruction of a marijuana camp in Sangre Grande has made a significant dent in the operations of an Organised Criminal Group.

Yesterday officers journeyed three miles into a forested area off Upper Cunapo Road, where they found two camps outfitted with solar panels, water tanks, air condition units and other amenities.

Two grow houses equipped with solar panels and AC units were also located and destroyed as part of the operation.

The TTPS says the grand total of the operation is estimated at $10,965,746.

The exercise came following leads into the operations of an Organised Criminal Group whose main operations are based in the Belmont district.

Similarly, officers executed an operation on March 14th 2024, during which time they located another campsite in a forested area of Upper Cunapo Road, Sangre Grande.
