A Matelot man has been disqualified from driving for one year and fined a total of $5,000 following two charges stemming from an accident on September 30th 2023.

Reggie Wilson pleaded guilty to careless driving and driving without a certificate of insurance when he appeared before Sangre Grande Magistrate Nanette Forde-John yesterday.

He received a $3,500 for failing to have a certificate of insurance and $1,500 for careless driving.

Around 4:40pm on the day of the accident, Wilson was driving east along Samuel Street in Matelot, when he came into contact with another vehicle.

The impact damaged both vehicles.

Following investigations, it was discovered that he did not have a valid certificate of insurance.
