The UNC plans to host public consultations on crime in the New Year.

This was confirmed at a media briefing by Senator Jearlean John who lamented the state of crime and, in particular, the death of Lana Sahadeo.

Sahadeo was fatally shot when she looked out her window as three men were killed in St Augustine yesterday.

Senator John said the country is in chaos and assured that the Opposition Leader has committed to meeting with citizens in 2024.

On the topic of crime interventions, Senator John referred to the 2013 Selwyn Ryan report which examined the cause of crime among the youth of T&T and made recommendations for reducing these crimes.
