bp has reaffirmed its commitment to T&T, saying the country remains an important component of its global operations.

This assurance reportedly came as Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley met today with bp’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Murray Auchincloss, at the company’s headquarters in London.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says Dr Rowley and Mr Auchincloss congratulated the respective negotiating teams on the work done to restructure Atlantic LNG.

Their discussions also reportedly focused on prospective initiatives, including the pursuit of deep water exploration and sanctioning of future projects.

Also attending the meeting were Energy Minister Stuart Young, President of bp Trinidad and Tobago David Campbell, President of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Mark Loquan, Permanent Secretary in the Energy Ministry Penelope Bradshaw-Niles and Vice-President – Corporate bp Trinidad and Tobago,Giselle Thompson.
