3 gunned down in separate incidents

Three men have been gunned down between yesterday and today.

In the latest incident, a 23-year-old Belmont was murdered in his bed this morning.

Around 3:30am, police responded to a report of loud explosions at Serraneau Road, in the vicinity of the steps.

On arrival they were directed to a house where they found Jabari Rodriguez lying face down and motionless with gunshot wounds.

According to reports, he was shot by gunmen who stormed the house.

Hours earlier, a 35-year-old mason was gunned down at Upper Fairley Street in Tunapuna.

This incident occurred around 9:30pm on Sunday.

103.1FM News understands Ancil Maxwell was found lying unresponsive on a staircase.

He had been shot several times.

Also, an Arima businessman was shot dead yesterday evening.

Around 6:35pm, loud explosions were heard at El’s Mini Mart along Tumpuna Road.

Responding officers found 56-year-old Elliot Chance unresponsive with gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the TTPS, 533 murders have been recorded so far for 2023 (up until December 4th 2023).

This is less than the 558 recorded for the same period last year.
