2 held for firing at Salman Khan’s house

Two members of a notorious criminal gang have been arrested for firing at Salman Khan’s home.

According to Al Jazeera, the action appears to be retaliation for the superstar’s killing of two antelopes decades ago.

Khan has been in the crosshairs of the Bishnoi gang since 1998 for shooting two blackbucks on a recreational hunting trip.

The gang, which is accused of several murders and extortion rackets, hails from a wider desert-based religious sect that considers the species to be the reincarnation of their guru.

Al Jazeera says members of the Bishnoi community pursued a criminal case against the actor for the blackbuck shooting and he was actually sentenced to five years in jail by a local court for violating the Wildlife Protection Act in 2018.

However the penalty was suspended on appeal, prompting a threat from the gang’s leader, Lawrence Bishnoi, that his group would take the law into their own hands.
