The UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon will take place this Sunday.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘A Sound Mind in A Healthy Body’, with blue being the colour of choice.

In addition to the 13.1 mile half marathon, there’s also a 5K race.

The Half Marathon begins at 5am from The UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC), with the established route remaining unchanged – runners will start from SPEC on to the Priority Bus Route, to La Resource Junction, D’Abadie and back to SPEC, along the Priority Bus Route.

The 5K will begin at 5:15am, also at SPEC – from SPEC they will go on to the Priority Bus Route, to Macoya in the vicinity of the Kenle Industries and then back to SPEC.

1,700 runners are carded to compete across both events.
