The TTPS says 14 Venezuelan immigrants were detained during separate exercises in the South Western Division yesterday.

13 – five females and eight males – were said to be undocumented.

They were held as police searched an apartment along Penal Rock Road, Penal.

Meanwhile, officers executing a warrant at an apartment at Ali Mohammed Avenue, Batchiya, Penal, found 48 bottles of alcohol.

A 31-year-old Venezuelan man was arrested for the offence of possession of un-customed goods.

Also during exercises in the Cedros District, officers spotted a Black Nissan panel van parked off of the roadway in the Coconuts.

The driver reportedly fled, leaving behind 25 cases of “liquor” and 17 cases of whiskey.

The items were seized and taken to the Fyzabad Police Station pending further enquiries.
