The Court of Appeal has dismissed a claim against former TTUTA President, Lynsley Doodhai, according to the teachers’ union.

In a media release, TTUTA says a claim about defamatory remarks was filed in 2017 by the principal of a secondary school regarding comments highlighting the state of the school.

That claim was dismissed in 2018 but another was filed and then disallowed in 2020 by the High Court.

That judgement led to the most recent appeal which was dismissed on Tuesday by the Court comprising Justice Mark Mohammed, Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh and Madame Justice Maria Wilson.

TTUTA says this is another victory for the organization and trade unions.
