A tripartite approach is needed to address teacher shortages in T&T, according to TTUTA 1st Vice-President Adesh Dwarika.

103.1FM News spoke with Mr Dwarika today on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day – this year’s theme is “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage.”

He explained that, in T&T, apart from a general shortage of teachers, there are also smaller numbers of male teachers.

Mr Dwarika believes the issue of shortages can be addressed through tripartite meetings of the bodies involved in hiring teachers.
