Trinbago Knight Riders have called in Samit Patel to replace fellow English-man Tom Curran for the remainder of the 2023 Caribbean Premier League.

Curran joined the team after the start of the tournament and featured in a single match: he bowled one over against Barbados Royals in Bridgetown.

He has now withdrawn after suffering a knee injury.

In a video posted to social media, TKR captain Kieron Pollard wished Curran a speedy recovery, and expressed confidence that he would be back with the franchise in the future.

Patel featured for TKR in the 2022 CPL, and for St Lucia Kings in the 2021 edition of the tournament.
