Attorney Prakash Ramadhar wants Paria to pay 5 million dollars to each of the families of the divers killed in the 2022 pipeline tragedy.

This comes after the Lynch Report was laid in the Parliament last Friday with the Commission of Enquiry stating, among other things, that “Paria’s negligence could be characterised as gross negligence and consequently criminal.”

At a media conference today Mr Ramadhar was asked how much payout to the families he is seeking.

Mr Ramadhar said legal action would be taken against company if it does not act on this offer within a reasonable time.

He also disagreed with recommendations in the report that suggested it was difficult to bring charges against any individual in the matter.
