Nicholas Pooran made a 34-ball 68 but his MI New York were outdone by a Heinrich Klaasen unbeaten century in Major League Cricket action.

Pooran hit three fours and seven sixes to lead the batting effort while Kieron Pollard added 34 from 18 to help MI to 194/8 in 20 overs.

This was Pooran’s second fifty-plus score in a row, after making 62 not out on Saturday against Washington Freedom.

However, Klaasen made 110 not out from just 44 balls as the Seattle Orcas chased their target, getting to 195/8 in 19.2 overs.

His knock helped defy the bowling effort of Trent Boult who took 4/31 in four overs.

Seattle finish top of the table and qualify for Qualifier 1 against second placed Texas Super Kings tomorrow at 8:30pm.

MI New York meanwhile will face Washington Freedom in the Eliminator tomorrow at 4:30pm.
