Bandits break into Longdenville temple, tie up male devotees

One devotee remains hospitalized after four bandits broke into a Longdenville temple.

The assailants broke down the doors to the Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha Mandir around 1:30am yesterday.

They confronted six male devotees – two were beaten, with one suffering blows to the head and fractured ribs.

They bandits also ransacked the temple, eventually escaping with two bushwackers, cellphones and other valuables.

He remains warded.

103.1FM News spoke with the Mandir’s President, Pancha Tattva Devi Dasi, who was thankful that the murtis were left undamaged during the ordeal.

She adds that repairs are underway to fix the damaged doors, with the Mandir to continue operating as it normally would.

She laments though that the ordeal has left devotees shaken, since it shows a lack of respect for God and man.
