An 8 year old boy was shot in the chest on Friday nigiht and is said to be in a stable condition as of Saturday morning.

The Guardian Newspaper reported that the boy was with his mother and other siblings, when loud explosions were heard in the Valencia area.

The mother reported that her son complained of a burning sensation on his upper left chest, and she observed what appeared to be a gunshot wound, and blood was said to be oozing from it.

The article noted that the child was taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

Police have visited the scene and are investigating, with CCTV footage obtained to help determine who fired the shots.

The Guardian Report said police made checks but no useful information on the incident was received, as of Saturday morning.
