Point Fortin man in court for breaching a protection order

A 39-year-old Point Fortin man was granted $65,000 bail for threats, breaching a protection order and other crimes.

On October 18th, the victim came home from work and met the offender who accused her of being unfaithful.

The man allegedly used obscene language, took the woman’s phone, and hit her several times on the back.

On Tuesday he appeared in the South Master’s Court charged with 2 counts of Threats to Kill, 2 counts of Breach of Protection Order, 1 count of Actual Bodily Harm, and 1 count of Larceny.

He was ordered to leave his current residence and to stay 100 feet away from the victim.

He must also to report to the Point Fortin Police Station twice per week and will reappear before the court on November 25th, 2024.

Meanwhile a 59-year-old watchman from Tobago, was granted $20,000 bail for breaching a protection order.

The charge stems from an incident on September 18th 2024, where he allegedly assaulted the victim at home.

He appeared before a Scarborough Magistrate Court on Monday and will reappear on June 10th 2025.
