Police are investigating the murder of a woman in south Trinidad.

Around 10:15pm yesterday, a woman in Rambert Village was alerted by her neighbour to someone in her yard.

Upon checking, she saw a bloodied and injured man, who stated that he and his wife had been shot near a roundabout in Debe and that his wife had died in the car.

Police were alerted and subsequently found the body of Elizabeth Lennard in the front passenger seat of a Nissan AD Wagon parked along Church Street.

The man is now warded at hospital.

The couple is said to be from Rousillac.
