WASA says emergency repairs to a pipeline led to a delay in the restoration of water supply to some areas supplied by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant.

According to an update from the company overnight, works were supposed to be completed by 11pm.

However, under WASA’s Facebook update on the matter, persons are this morning informing that water has still not returned to a number of areas including Curepe, St James and San Juan.

WASA’s advisory issued last night noted that supply to most affected areas is expected to be restored over a 24-48 hour period.
