A member of the UNC’s Elections Management Committee says voting for the party’s National Executive Elections is progressing, despite some minor issues.
According to reports, there have been complaints of one team not adhering to the rules at a polling station in Debe.
Some persons also allegedly reported issues with their names not being included on the voting list.
103.1FM News spoke with Committee member Dr Allen Sammy, who said while some “minor issues” had been reported, these were nothing to stall the process.
He adds that the issues have since been addressed.
Two factions are contesting 17 posts on the UNC’s National Executive – they are the Star Team backed by political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar and United Patriots led by Mayaro MP Rushton Paray.
The post of political leader is not being contested in this election.
