Two men were held as police seized a firearm, ammunition, a stolen vehicle and other stolen items yesterday.

The suspects – 21 and 24 years old – were arrested during a strategic check set up by officers in the North Eastern Division after a report of a robbery.

During the exercise, they spotted two men fitting the description, walking along the Priority Bus Route.

One was in possession of a revolver and five rounds of ammunition, while both were found with jewelry, a cell phone, cash and two bank cards.

They were immediately arrested and conveyed to the San Juan Police Sub Station.

The officers also reportedly continued a search of the surrounding areas for a silver Nissan AD Wagon with no front bumper, which was used in the robbery.

The vehicle was later found parked along Samaroo Street, East Aranguez – it had been reported stolen from the Price Plaza Compound on 22nd February, 2024.
