The T&T Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is asking the public to consider pledging monthly donations to help the shelter.

In a post to Facebook, the TTSPCA explained that it is not government funded and raises money through small charges for services, donations and fundraising events.

However, despite these efforts, the situation has become critical, overwhelming the organization, which does rehabilitation and re-homing of rescues, low-cost spaying and neutering and advocacy, among other services.

TTSPCA is now offering an option for persons to donate $100 monthly to the Port of Spain shelter through its bank account.

The organization believes that without the public’s help, the future of the TTSPCA looks “very uncertain.”
