The TTPS says it is maintaining a presence in North Eastern Settlement, Sangre Grande, following fiery protests yesterday.

Burning debris was used to block several roads yesterday after police shot and killed 33-year-old Brandon De Gale.

The TTPS says investigations into the incident are continuing.

It adds that as at 7am today, there were no signs of protest, with the roadways passable.

The contingent of police officers in the area includes members of the Guard and Emergency Branch, who were deployed to restore and maintain peace and order in the area yesterday.

Meanwhile police are searching for a 24-year-old male suspect in connection with the recovery of a firearm and ammunition in North Eastern Settlement.

Officers were conducting exercises yesterday when a man allegedly threw away an object and ran after spotting them.

Upon searching the area, they found and seized a Beretta Pistol fitted with a magazine containing four rounds of ammunition.
