T&T, US officials discuss national security and public safety

Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander and Defence Minister Wayne Sturge met with US Charge d’Affaires Jenifer Neidhart de Ortiz this morning.

The meeting focused on strengthening security ties and discussed key issues surrounding national security and public safety.

Topics included enhancing bilateral cooperation, addressing regional security challenges, border security, and emergency response capabilities.

The meeting also reaffirmed both countries’ shared commitment to combat evolving security threats, including new avenues for collaboration in intelligence sharing.

Recently, the US maintained a level 3 travel advisory for Trinidad and Tobago, which asks persons to reconsider travel to the country due to serious risks from crime.
