US President Donald Trump has proposed that the United States could “take over the Gaza Strip”, adding that the country will “do a job with it too.”

At a White House press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump suggested that Palestinian people could be resettled in other countries while the US takes over Gaza.

The role of the US would then be to remove unexploded bombs, rebuild and economically redevelop the territory.

PM Netanyahu said Trump’s idea was “worth paying attention to”.
