The Tobago Oil Spill Relief Committee is conducting a Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis with regard to the recent oil spill.
The THA’s Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development says this exercise will help determine the extent of the damage and the needs of affected parties.
Persons wishing to access relief can do so by providing documentation to support their claims such as:
For equipment damage:
- Description and/or photographs of the damaged item
- Date and type of damage sustained
- Proof of ownership (bills, receipts, invoices, or bills of sale)
- Value of the item at the date of loss or damage
- Insurance certificates and/or claims
For loss of income:
- Proof of engaging in fishing, fish vending, or other related activities
- Statement detailing how the loss was incurred
- Proof of income prior to loss (deposits, tax payments, loan payments, general expenditure)
- Statement/proof of loss
Claim forms can be collected at the Division’s Department of Marine Resources and Fisheries, located at Milshirv Administrative Complex, or TEMA’s Office at Fairfield Complex in Scarborough.
The deadline for submission is Monday 5th August, 2024.
