Three suspects have been arrested over allegations of defrauding the HDC and its contractors.
The HDC says two contractors yesterday visited its head office with fraudulent documents bearing a forged signature of the HDC’s Managing Director.
Police were called in and arrested two suspects in the car park and another suspect who was waiting in a vehicle nearby.
The company explains that, on Monday, suspects purporting to be HDC employees allegedly presented an HDC contract to two entrepreneurs who, although they gave the suspects a cheque, believed that the contract was fake.
The entrepreneurs lured the suspects to the HDC head office the next day with the promise of additional funds, only to have them arrested.
The HDC is reminding persons that all of its business deals are done at its head office at South Quay in Port of Spain, its South Office at 2 Mc Gillivary Street, San Fernando and its Maloney Office, at Jacana Avenue, Maloney Gardens, D’Abadie.
