A suspect in the robbery of a store in San Fernando on Saturday is due in court today.

Police responded to a report around 2:50pm at the establishment along Pointe-a-Pierre Road, and went to Pleasantville in search of the alleged perpetrators.

The suspects were spotted at Balisier Avenue and were chased to a bushy area near the Pleasantville Health Centre and the area’s community centre.

An assailant allegedly pointed a gun, prompting officers to open fire which fatally wounded a suspect identified as 26-year-old Zion Cooper.

Officers also arrested an 18-year-old suspect who was formally charged yesterday with three counts of robbery with aggravation.
