The main suspect in the fatal shooting of Police Corporal Marlone Mitchelle has turned himself in.

Mitchelle was killed with his own during an altercation with another man at a bar in Couva on Friday morning.

He was off duty at the time.

The suspect, a 21-year-old from Quarry Road, Valencia, surrendered to officers of the Freeport Police Station.

The TTPS says he was accompanied by his attorney and was later taken for medical attention, pending further investigations.

Police also reportedly seized the officer’s firearm.
