A 30-year-old man is now in police custody after a Facebook Marketplace deal gone wrong.

Around 2:30pm yesterday, two men responded to an ad on the platform to purchase a vehicle.

They went to Sohan Trace, First Caledonia in Morvant where they were accosted by two men, who robbed them of $25,000 and escaped in a white Nissan Wingroad.

The victims flagged down a police vehicle, with the officers later spotting the wagon near an industrial compound along the Eastern Main Road.

The TTPS says one of the suspects was held, while the other escaped after a shootout with the officers.
