The Star Team has declared a “landslide” victory in the party’s National Executive election.

Speaking a short while ago, UNC Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says while some results are still coming in, things are in favour of the slate.

She adds that the party is now fully mobilized for the next challenge, which is the two Local Government Bye-Elections in Lengua/Indian Walk and Quinam/Morne Diablo.

She referred to the campaign as “battering” adding that this was “the worst”.

103.1FM also spoke tonight with Anita Haynes-Alleyne, one of the candidates for the rival United Patriots.

She said the members of her slate would be holding a media conference at 11am on Sunday.

Up until midnight, the UNC’s Elections Management Committee had yet to release the official results of the poll.
